Rep. Clyburn Calls for Vigilance to Protect Voting Rights

House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn speaks with Rev. Jim Wallis about voting rights ahead of one of the most important presidential elections in modern history.

Clyburn says, "This is probably the most consequential election for African Americans and for civil rights and civil liberties since maybe the election of 1868. All elections are important, but all of them are not as consequential as others. ... It's often said that Thomas Jefferson wrote that 'The price of Liberty is eternal vigilance.' We have to remain vigilant. And I can think of no time in our history that that's more apropos than this time."
