Director of Foundation Relations

Carrie is the director of foundation relations at Sojourners. She brings experience in social science research, grassroots advocacy, and fundraising, along with a passion for economic justice, local political engagement, and mobilizing faith communities for learning and action.

Before joining Sojourners, Carrie worked in marketing at the international development organization Food for the Hungry and managed institutional partnerships and grants for the refugee resettlement and immigrant services organization World Relief.

Carrie lives in Chicago, where she volunteers with her church’s asylum seeker ministry, World Relief, and Legal Aid Chicago. She is also on the Young Professionals Board of Breakthrough, a community development organization based on the west side of the city. Carrie loves reading, playing board games, and exploring Chicago’s vibrant restaurant scene. You can often find her listening to podcasts about religion, politics, or pop culture while walking with a cup of coffee by Lake Michigan.

She is a graduate of Covenant College, where she earned a B.A. in community development with minors in history and sociology.
