Elizabeth Beyer is a multimedia political reporter for the Medill News Service and master’s candidate at the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, with a focus on visual and interactive storytelling.

She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus on news writing and reporting from Columbia College Chicago in 2012.

Two Turkish-American supporters of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan were sentenced to one year in prison Thursday with credit for time served for violently attacking anti-Erdogan protesters during a demonstration that left 13 people injured outside of the Turkish ambassador’s residence last year.
