5.25.2021 - Faiths4Vaccines, a multifaith coalition of religious leaders and medical professionals working to resolve gaps in vaccine outreach, is hosting a national summit on Wednesday, May 26 to support equitable and far-reaching vaccine distribution in the United States. 

5.24.2021 - Sojourners is launching El Camino - The Way, a collection of sermons from various faith leaders calling for just immigration policies and encouraging their congregations to understand immigration as a theological issue and join advocacy efforts.

4.18.2021 - Today, social impact production company Fame Currency and its racial justice initiative #breathewithme Revolution joined forces with Sojourners and the Black Music Action Coalition to produce a national call on the Biden-Harris Administration to establish a United States Commission on Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT).  

4.7.2021 - On April 3—Good Friday—a coalition of faith leaders, recognizing the dire urgency of recent events and the ongoing crisis around racial justice, sent a letter to President Biden urging him to use the power of the executive order to establish a Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Commission (TRHT) in the United States.

3.31.2021 - Rev. Adam Taylor, President of Sojourners and​ Rev. Jim Wallis, Founder and Ambassador of Sojourners along with ​17 other Christian leaders, as a part of the Circle of Protection, have sent a letter to President Biden and every member of Congress affirming the importance of justice for poor and marginalized people in the Build Back Better legislation that they will now be considering.

We see this as an important step to recovery and helping communities that have been disproportionately affected by the dual health and economic crises. 

2.18.2021 - Sojourners firmly believes that our immigration laws should honor the God-given dignity of every person, protect family unity, and promote thriving communities. This is why Sojourners applauds Sen. Bob Menendez and Rep. Linda Sanchez for introducing and cosponsoring the U.S. Citizenship Act, a bill that includes a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented people and an expedited pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients, TPS holders, and qualifying farmworkers.

1.11.2021 - In the face of mob violence and political insurrection, we as followers of Jesus are called to be peacemakers. He didn’t instruct us to merely be peace lovers who call for unity and healing, but rather to act; and do the things that make for peace. Faith leaders know, as Pope Paul VI said, “If you want peace, work for justice.”

1.7.2021- President Donald Trump incited a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol yesterday. His supporters invaded and desecrated the Capitol building, threatening the lives of all Capitol Hill personnel and members of Congress.

11.20.2020 - The Sojourners Board of Directors has appointed Rev. Adam Russell Taylor as the new president of Sojourners. This transition is the culmination of a multiyear succession planning process spearheaded by the Board and the organization’s founder, Jim Wallis, and timed to coincide with Sojourners entering its 50th year.

11.9.2021 - Joe Biden has been declared the winner in the United States Presidential Election. The election is over and the people have spoken. We want to congratulate President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris and are hopeful about their commitment to both healing and change.  As Christians we are called to love our neighbors and our enemies and prioritize protecting the most vulnerable while advancing the common good. This is a moment in which both political and faith leaders must find the courage and resolve to put our country and the common good over political idolatry and naked ambition. Leaders must stop making reckless statements about election fraud without evidence that continue to stoke partisan and political flames. We are calling for unity in this moment.

11.4.2021 - A network of over 1,000 clergy across the country volunteered as poll chaplains across nine states at over 60 different polling sites to ensure all voters had access to a fair, free and safe voting experience.

10.20.2020 - Three national faith-based nonprofits have joined forces to connect a network of clergy across the U.S. that will ensure all voters have access to a fair, free and safe voting experience. Organized under the brands of 2020 Turnout Sunday and Lawyers & Collars Campaign, the effort is recruiting “poll chaplains” among interfaith leaders along with church-based lawyers to provide moral and legal support at polling sites of vulnerable voters. 
It will address suppression tactics in nine battleground states at 60 polling sites in four key cities in each state.

10.8.2020 - A diverse group of Christian leaders from the Circle of Protection released a video of Democratic presidential nominee, Vice President Joe Biden, discussing the specific steps he will take to address hunger, poverty, and racial inequity in the United States if elected.
